Nya began her journey with yoga to heal her scoliosis, but came to realize its healing powers ran much deeper as it slowly transformed her life. Dedicating herself to the ancient teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda has aligned her with her path, leading her to Maine all the way from her home in Hawai'i. She trained in 2017 under Raj Patra of Universal Yoga lineage, then completed her BA in Psychology. “I view yoga as not just a means of fitness and bodily health, but a lifestyle path that guides you toward inner-peace and a worldview centered around compassion” She may look young but beware of her very old knowing and serene soul. She works as a Social Worker, plays guitar, writes, hike and trains in Jiu-Jitsu.

DEEP ASANA

Deep Asana is a full-body stretching and full-mind trapping experience where you will slowly and over time reach new levels of flexibility not just in muscle groups but in joint rotations. The focus that you will naturally fall into as a result of the depth of such postures will clear your mind and set the stage for a more awakened and conscious meditation practice. In this class we focus on calming our nerves and breath with grounding techniques and pranayama so the body can relax and release tension-both physical and energetic- stored in the muscles.

Unique and pointed stretching postures will trap your mind to ensure deep meditation at the end of class, and will support your body in recovery/injury prevention as well. You will leave this class feeling deeply relaxed and simultaneously very conscious of yourself on multiple layers: the body, the mind, and the spirit.
